As many scoffers will point out there are many brands of Christianity and thousands of denominations. What they don’t understand is that while we may vary slightly in issues that are not the absolutes of faith, and that we may focus on the different aspects of the same faith, we all hold fast to an immutable group of absolutes. The tenets of faith, or what we believe.
There are some basic truths, that all Christians must believe in and that we must agree on before we can proceed together in the word.
1. Jesus is God. Not an angel, not a minor god, not (only) a prophet, not a wise man. He is God and Man. (John 1: 1&14)
2. There are three who are one. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit and these three are God. (1st John 5:7)
3. God Created everything that is seen and unseen (Genesis1) and God created man and He created him perfect without sin (Genesis 2)
4 That man (Adam and Eve) did willfully sin causing them to fall from grace and be separated from the grace of God (genesis 3)
5 That From the moment of that fall, God promised a redeemer (Genesis 3 15)
6 That from the sin of Adam, sin entered the world and into all men (Romans 5 12)
7 That none are righteous, But all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans3:23)
8 That though men had utterly failed, God provided a way of salvation in the person of Jesus Christ (John 3:16)
9 That through the death of Jesus Christ the sins of men were paid, and through His resurrection we too may be partakers of eternal life (Romans 7:23)
10 That if anyone confesses with their mouth the Lord Jesus (that Jesus is the Lord of your Life) and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead they will be saved (Roman’s 10:9) and that whosever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10 13)
This is the Truth of Salvation.
