Repent For The Kingdom Of God Is At Hand

repentanceProphets are a strange brew, and they always have been.

They are not the life of the party. They aren’t the guys dancing with the lampshade on his head, quite the opposite. They are often very quiet and when they do speak, it’s not always what people want to hear. Sometimes they can be the party poopers.

…..and there are quite a few more of them out there then you might expect.

They are the mice in the wainscoting staying in the shadows until called out by God. But they speak with the same Spirit and often the same message. And the message we are all hearing, and speaking with one voice these days is simple.

“Repent.”

“Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. Make straight the way of the Lord.”

The sin of man has become an offense to God. The pride, the self-idolatry and the rejection of God’s will and grace have planted a garden on this earth. A garden of sin whose stench has reached into heaven and has filled the nostrils of God.

God is poised to pour is wrath out on the world and time is not long.

He hold’s his hand solely for the just and those who would be just.  For there are many Christians who are dabbling and playing in the world, who, save that they repent, will also taste the bitter cup of wrath awaiting those who mock God.

The time for playing has come to an end. The time for half measures is over. Jesus is coming back for a Bride who is without spot or blemish. I am not sure if any of us could truly point at ourselves and claim that status, but hope remains.

Never has one word meant so much to the Christians of an age as Holiness means to us. The world has become voracious for sin and self-satisfaction. And the people of the world exalt themselves above the law of God, above the grace of God and even above the being of God.  None of these sins are new, they originate with the father of sin and lies himself. But what is different is the time.

In the days shortly after Pentecost the apostles thought that return of Christ was near. This has been case with each generation that has thought perhaps they were living in the end times. I will not presume to trespass upon the Lord’s prerogative of knowing the time of His return, but I do know what He has told me, and that is , that His wrath burns hot against the pride of man. Only for the sake of those who have called His name, yet remain in the world, and those who have yet to call and soon will , has he held his hand.

2 Peter 3

7But the heavens and the earth, which are, now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Long was the wait for the apostles and yet, each of them in turn to come upon their last days. But the clarion call has sounded again as it did before the first coming of Christ. “Repent!, for the kingdom of God is at hand.”

As God came to Noah before his judgment came upon the earth in a flood, So God comes to us. What will our answer be?  Will we set about doing the will of God and preparing the ark (our very own hearts) that will ride as above the destruction of the world? Or will we delay in our efforts and waffle in our devotion and be caught with scuppers awash and be in travail when the torrent comes?

And the torrent comes

The story of Lot has a lot to say for us today. He was what the bible calls a righteous man in a bad place

2 Peter 2

6and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; 7and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked 8(for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)-

Here is a man like many Christians today….loving God and yet living in the world. It is said that Lot sat in the gates of the city, this is a place were the prosperous and elders of the city sat. No mere by stander was our brother Lot.

Genesis 19

1 Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground.

Here we see our righteous man enmeshed in the world, the very cream of Sodom’s society sitting at the gate. When he see ‘s the angels and recognizes them for who they are and makes the appropriate gesture to them , even  if his heart is not necessarily in the right place. The hypocrisy of the righteous living with the world defined.

2And he said, “Here now, my lords, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.”
And they said, “No, but we will spend the night in the open square.”
3But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered
his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

Have you ever been in a position where you were ashamed of your life and you did not want some other person of God to see the mess that is in the streets of your heart? Well this was Lot, he knew Sodom to be a vile and unholy town and he did not want these two angels of God to see it. Perhaps his unwillingness was to spare the angels the sight. More likely, he was trying to keep his hidden sin, hidden from God’s representatives.

But God is not mocked.

We know the story as follows.  The angels where there to destroy Sodom and they came first to warn Lot and his family to get out of town because God’s judgment was coming. Of his family, of his sons, his sons in law, his daughters and his wife only four chose to heed the word of the Lord and leave. Sons, sons-laws and married daughters all stayed, all were given the chance to escape the wrath of God. Four did.

And even then we know of those four, one looked back. And the wrath of God came upon her.

God is going to judge the world again, soon by all reasoning. His wrath is going to fall again on the unjust….and those who dwell with the unjust. Will we continue to mess around with the world and it’s ways. Will we look back upon the pleasant temptations of the world? Or will we conquer by the faith God has given us.

Here in lies the hope.

That we can indeed be presented to Christ and spotless and blemish free, a bride fit for a King.

“Okay Chief…sounds good to me, but how? “Here is the goodness of God:

2 Peter 1

2Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

This is such a wonderful scripture full of truth…but let me post it again with emphasis on a certain point

Hold the phone Chief, it sounds like your telling me that….what I need to be Holy, God has already given me….Yep and there is more…

1 Peter 1

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Another truth filled scripture. lets highlight our point

Wait…. You mean that not only has He provided me what I need to be Holy…but HE will keep me saved?

Well, simple …but true.

So what’s the catch?

What’s the difference?

Huh?

What is the difference between the response of Noah and what could have been? What is the difference between Lot and those who stayed behind. What is the difference between the sheep and the goats?

It is simply this.

John 10

27My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

The difference between a sheep and a goat is that sheep hear the word of God and obey. As long as you have a heart for God you are His sheep. If you heed his voice, if you follow his word, if you love Him and have made him TRULY your Lord then you are His, and you are safe. You WILL leave the world and it’s coming wrath behind. Because His sheep hear His voice

And if you’re wondering about all those spots and blemishes…

Jude 1

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
        And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
        25To God our Savior,
        Who alone is wise,
        Be glory and majesty,
        Dominion and power
        Both now and forever.
        Amen.

And

1 John 1

9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Cleansed from the spots and blemishes and made righteous again. Everything we need to be that spotless bride, He has provided and will make appear in our life, if we only follow Him. Follow the voice of the Lord. Get up when you fall down and turn your back on the desires and lusts of the world and you will safely be in the hand of the Lord

I pray that you will never lose hope in the Love of Our Almighty Father, and never lose touch of His hand. May the world be forever shadowed in your eyes and it’s temptations smell like rotten trash to you.  Keep yourself Holy little children. And God will keep you safely in hand.

Sin Is An Anchor

anchor-underwater

Do Not Let Sin Be The Anchor that holds you down

We all make mistakes. We all stumble. We all sin. Anyone who tells you they do not sin, is not in fellowship with God (b)

But for the rest of us we sin. Why do we sin, well because we are not yet completely Holy yet. You see we are a three part being, we are a spirit (created in God’s image), we have a soul and we live in a body.

When we are saved our spirit is miraculously and instantly transformed from death to life, and we are in fellowship with God. Our soul, which is our mind will and emotions is still thinking in old ways. And our flesh…..that is our body, will always be of the world, base and desirous of base and sinful things.

Romans 12:1-2 tells us that we must bring the soul into God’s way of thinking, and that we must bring our body into submission to the will of God.

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2nd do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

The Body is never going to be redeemed. It is going to rot into the earth from when it came.

The Soul is the battle ground. when we sin it is because some element of the soul, The mind, the will or the emotion, or all three, have heeded the call of the body or our base nature the flesh and has chosen to walk in that path.

Romans 12 tells us we must not be conformed to this world, which is evil, but we must be transformed by the renewing of our mind. It is almost a wrestling match to manhandle the mind away from the world and force it walk in the way of light. It takes effort, it takes determination and even with all the determination in the world, we all some times fail.

So how do we deal with Sin?

First we train the mind to walk in God’s light by reading the word….fill ourselves with his truth. Like changing oil in the car, you have to drain the old decrepit oil and fill the engine block with new oil. So too do we need to fill our block heads (or maybe this is just me) of the New Life, the word of God, and drain it of the old insensible sensibilities.

We are at war and the battle field is the soul….who will win? God or the flesh? If we follow the directions of 2nd Corinthians 10:4-5, then God will win our souls.

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Bringing into captivity every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God….YOUR knowledge of God. So how do you win the battle? Educated yourself, fill yourself with the word of God and you will succeed. Let us not be destroyed in sin by our lack of knowledge, but let us stock the armory of our mind with the word of God that we may pull down the strong hold that bind us to sin.

What’s second…..well even the Holiest of mortal men (not speaking of myself here…no sir) will fall. We will, as Christians, against our own sense and in utter disbelief find ourselves committing sins, perhaps the same sin over and over again. What do you do then? Beat yourself up about it, throw in the towel and admit defeat? Never! Do we deny the power of sin in our lives and pretend all is well? again, never! Here is what you do:

1st John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

We RUN to God and ask forgiveness, we pick ourselves up and get clean again. Then we march forward intent on never doing that again. What is the difference between a saint and a sinner, the saint gets up when they fall and run to Jesus for forgiveness.

God Bless you this day

Our Reasonable Service

…Our Reasonable Service holy2-300x240It is laid upon us… the saved, delivered, redeemed, and sanctified -to actively seek the grace of God to cooperate with the working of God inside us to bring forth the fruit of God. This is of course not for our own benefit- as we already have full credit in Christ with God! But there is need of this fruit of holiness and righteousness in the earth. The world needs to see the difference in us that it might be made manifest that we are the children of God*** We know that God is holy….but what is our part? Well first we are commanded to be holy. 1 Peter 1 15but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” God Is Holy. 100% pure. There is nothing in Him that is not goodness, mercy and light. He is God. and He is good, there is no evil in Him. Also As Pastor Larry pointed out in his sermon. There is no one Holy. There is no other source of Holiness except God. You cannot earn Holiness. You cannot make enough brownie points to have holiness bestowed upon you. There is in fact never going to any holiness bestowed upon you. Ever. ” But if I can’t get Holy then how can I BE holy?” By being less of yourself. ” Less of me?…..You’re going to have to explain that one Mr. Prophet.” Okay I will. But first I want to show you something Jesus said. Its in John 17: 14-23 This particular stretch of scripture from John 13 through John17 is hard to break up because it is the embodiment of what Jesus wanted us to know. This is just before he went to the cross. But this section is key for understanding holiness. First Jesus is praying for His disciples, then those who would follow because of their work. 14I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. Jesus Prays for All Believers 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. There are two parts that are key in understanding Holiness in the preceding verses 1.16They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. and 2.that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, You may ask, ” Okay where in there is Holiness mentioned?” The word sanctification and the world Holiness mean pretty much the same thing, and that is this. To be set apart. To be made Holy, is to be set apart. When Jesus asks His Father to sanctify them….us….by the Word of truth He is asking the Father to use His word to set us apart or make us Holy. “So then the Word makes us Holy… I kind a figured that….but how?” The second passage answers that question for us. In God. The Father in the Son, the Son in us. The Father in us, and the Son in the Father. “How many is that?” Just one. When we are one in Jesus, and He is one in us and by extension the Father, and by presence the Holy Spirit. All equal one. “I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one,” It is the oneness IN God (not with, but in) that makes us perfect. Or, Holy. “So now not only do I have to be holy, I have to be perfect… Who do you think I am…God?” No. But God is in you. And it is His perfection and His Holiness that make us perfect and Holy. “So if God is in me, and I in Him….why is it that I still don’t feel perfect or Holy? Well because the glass is not empty. Remember, we have to do our part. “Huh?” Okay example time. If you take a glass and fill it half with dirt and half with milk, would it be appetizing or even palatable? “Uh..no” Okay how about 1/10 dirt and 9/10 Milk…better? “Better Yes, but I don’t think the FDA would approve.” Well think of yourself as that Glass. When you came to God, you came as a dead man, and He made you alive. He gave you everlasting life when you were born again. You have a new spirit, born of the Holy Spirit. Glory to God! BUT…..your not finished then. Man (and woman) is a three part being (sounds familiar?) He is a spirit He has a soul (mind will and emotions) And he lives in a body. When you are born again your spirit…you, are born anew, you are a new creation (2 Cor 5:17) Old things have past away, all things are new, and all things are born of God. Your spirit is with and in God. Your body..well, it will never be redeemed. Your body is going to die and there is not a thing we can do to save it. We can receive healing so that our allotted time on earth is spent in productive health, But when your number is up..you go. In heaven we will receive a glorified body. What your walking in around now, is a worm food factory on the hoof. And your body…your flesh is going to want to do the fun things it used to do before it was saved…..you know. Sin. (Sorry if that was a bit graphic….) But your SOUL now there is the battle. Your soul is the glass that we talked about….what is your soul full of. Are you of the world…no. You are of heavenly places. When you got saved, your spirit was reborn, but you came with a soul full of worldly baggage. everything you ever had in your mind will and emotions before you got saved, came with you into your new life. Every thing except your sin. “Be Holy, even as I Am Holy” “They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” God is telling us to get out of the world and fill ourselves with Him. The less there is of our old selves, the less there will be of the world in us. The less there is of the world in us, the more room there is for the things of God. To Be Holy….we have to have less world. And perhaps even none. ” So here we are, but you still haven’t told me how to be Holy and be perfect.” Okay…So how do you fight the desires of the flesh…and how do you overcome the world in your soul….Romans 12: 1-2 Romans 12 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. To deal with your body….there is nothing to do but sacrifice it. Make it a living sacrifice to the Lord by requiring it to serve the Lord and not its base nature. In other words. Say no to the flesh and its desires. Whether, those desires are bound up in sexual lusts, slothfulness, gluttony, or anything else. Do not let the body dictate what you will do in the kingdom of God or in the world. Rather you dictate to the body what it will do to serve the kingdom of God. presenting our bodies holy (sanctified or set apart to Godliness) acceptable to God…..is our reasonable service. And to deal with the soul…..we must not allow the mind (which rules the will and emotions) to conform itself to worldly delights, habits, ways or anything. But rather transform it by the renewing of our mind….. How do we renew our mind? 17Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” By the Word of God. Reading the Word, studying the Word, meditating the Word, praying about the Word, seeking God and being led by His Spirit. Ingesting the word into your soul until the first response is one from a biblical stand point and not a worldly standpoint. When a person cuts you off while driving. Is your first response to forgive or do you first get angry at them and perhaps act on that anger. I know I have work to do. I think we all have to feed on the word until the truth of sanctification is more powerful than the draw of the world. Then we have to think what are we feeding on. Many people will argue that listening to worldly music or watching worldly TV or engaging in harmless worldly activities won’t hurt you, and certainly won’t cause you to go to hell. Well no, you won’t go to hell if you do those things…..but it will impede your progress to sanctification. Mark 4 relates the cares of the world….both pleasurable and not as being weeds in our gardens. We all know about gardens, about how we carefully till the soil…we tenderly remove rocks and impediments. Then we plant the tender seed, and watch over it . We water it, we tend it, and if we do everything right that plat will grow and produce some yummy veggies. But it takes care. This kind of production in mark 4 is related to the Word in us (that sanctifying factor). Now….does anyone plant weeds? No. Does anyone care and nurture weeds? No. But any gardener can tell you weeds sprout like ….. well , weeds. So then If the nature of the word in us is one of caring a nurturing to get it to produce, and the nature of the world in us is that of a rampantly growing weed, how much world can we really afford to take into us. Back to the glass. If you took a teaspoon of milk and poured into a glass of dirt. The dirt would be fairly unaffected, it would get a muddy spot that would soon dry. If you however reverse the process, one teaspoon dirt in a glass of milk would ruin it completely. How much world can we afford to take into us? Not very much it seems. If we want to be Holy, then we need to be in God and God in us. And we need to be renewed by the Word of truth that sanctifies us. We also to need to be set apart (Holy, Sanctified) from the world. After all, it is our reasonable service. May the Grace and Peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ Be upon Your Lives

Can We Be Perfect?

perfect1-310x190Romans 12: 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

The bible hints that there is a perfection that exists, and it is pointed to be our goal, and yet is it really obtainable? I have been a Christian from 30+ years now and I would like to think I am a better Christian than I was in those early years when I was a firebrand full of fervency, but not much wisdom. But i will be the first to tell you that I am far from perfect. I have been back to square one so many times in my life that I have squatting rights. So what is this perfection and can we attain it?

James tells us that perfection is made in us as our faith is tried. This speaks of maturity in Christ

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Here perfection is a completeness.

Matthew 5 tells us that perfection is found in love for others..

Matthew 5:43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor[g] and hate your enemy.’44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,[h] 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren[i] only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors[j] do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

If we could love as purely as God does, then we would be perfect. But that too seems like an unobtainable goal. I know that such a perfect love for everyone is very difficult for me.

In Matthew 19 we find that we may become perfect by giving up what we hold most dear

Matthew 19: 16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good[e] Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”

17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good?[f] No one is good but One,that is, God.[g] But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

18 He said to Him, “Which ones?”

Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ 19 ‘Honor your father and yourmother,’[h] and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”[i]

20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth.[j]What do I still lack?”

21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

And here we learn two lessons, the first being that the less there is of us, the more there is of God and the more perfect that we become. Second you will note that the rich man wanted to know what HE COULD DO to earn eternal life. And this is where our hope lies.

We of ourselves cannot become perfect, we cannot hope to attain to a perfection as long as we live in this body of sin and death. We will deal with imperfection in every breath. But the less there is of us in the equation and the more there is of Him, the closer to perfect we can become.

So if we are called to be perfect and yet perfection cannot be attained, then how do we in fact obtain the unobtainable? Through the Grace Of God

2 Corinthians 12: 7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me,“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Where we are weak, He makes us strong. We cannot earn perfection, we cannot obtain it, and be can not be it. But we do know perfection and His name is Jesus. And where we fail, he fills the gaps, he covers the sin. he takes us the rest of the way.

Do not make the mistake in thinking that since Jesus fills the gap we can lie back and forget about trying to obtain this perfection. We must do what we can, as much as we can if we intend to be mature, producing Christians

As Paul exhorts us in Philippians 3

Philippians 3: 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do,forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Not that I have already attained or am perfect but I press on that I may lay a hold of that which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Perfection. The perfection we seek is in the hands of Jesus, and He is keeping a hold of it until such time as we can attain it.

And when is that time?

Resurrection Day

Revelation 22: 1 And he showed me a pure[a] river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

Until that day we hold on to the hope, in Jesus Christ that we will see that day and that time when perfection is ours.

Colossians 1: 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which[d] is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
